PURUS® Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a non-toxic, clear, chemical, urea solution for use as a reducing agent for SCR systems (Selective Catalytic Reduction) in diesel-powered vehicles. Toxic NOx exhaust emissions are reduced to the following components of air, nitrogen, water and carbon dioxide, thereby removing previous environmentally and physically damaging pollutants from further entering the atmosphere.Applications:
Purus Diesel Exhaust Fluid is used in diesel-powered vehicles equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems
- It is stored in a dedicated DEF tank on the vehicle and injected into the exhaust stream at a rate of approximately 2% of fuel consumption, precisely controlled by the vehicle’s onboard computer
- The DEF reacts with NOx emissions in the SCR system, converting them into harmless nitrogen, water, and carbon dioxide
- It is a 32.5% aqueous urea solution of high purity, compliant with DIN 70070 and ISO 22241 standards
- Purus DEF is suitable for use in a wide range of diesel engines, including those in trucks, buses, agricultural machinery, and construction equipment
